Tips for Receiving the Full Benefit of Participation in Your Teleclasses |
| May 15th, 2006 under Teleclasses, [STUDENT ADMIN]. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
With students calling in from almost 70 countries, the following tips are beneficial for the entire class and the teleclass leader, as well as the individual student.
When participating in a teleclass:
-Be in a quiet place, away from distractions so you can fully listen to and participate in the class.
-Call from a landline phone when possible. Limit the use of mobile phones, as these can make the lines unstable.
-If you have noise in the background, as a courtesy to your classmates, press the 6 key on your phone to mute your line. When you want to speak, you can press the 6 key again to unmute your line.

What happens in the Supervised Coach assessment course? |
| May 15th, 2006 under Assessment, Teleclasses. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Supervised Coach is an assessment of your coaching skills and involves each student coaching a client (ICA or outside) for six sessions (two sessions for those in the ACCP program).
It is currently only offered twice a year, beginning in February and August.
Supervised Coach is the only course at ICA that you must register for, and usually one of the very last courses taken just prior to graduation.
In addition to its benefit in further developing your own coaching skills and style, Supervised Coach is an excellent course to hear coaching and feedback for coaching, and to observe the coaching competencies in action.

IMPORTANT and TIME SENSITIVE –> Exam Submissions |
| May 1st, 2006 under [STUDENT ADMIN]. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Due to the influx of assessments as we approach graduation in June, we ask that students hold off on submitting any exams until after the June 2nd graduation, unless you are graduating and have been granted an extension.
This will give us time to give all assessments the proper attention. We are also currently reviewing the course exams and may be making some changes in June/July, so watch for information in future bulletins.

ICA Goal – Month #2 Update |
| May 1st, 2006 under [STUDENT ADMIN]. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
We are growing faster than ever at ICA and we have set ourselves a target of enrolling 33 new students each month for the next 3 months, beginning in April. We are happy to report that we have met our target for the month of April and look forward to doing it again in May.
Remember, if you refer a friend or colleague to ICA in the next 2 months, and they enroll in one of our programs, we will thank you by sending you $100USD for every enrollment. This is not an affiliate program and it will expire June 30th 2006.
So, all you need to do is email (dennis@icoachacademy.com) us the details of your referrals, including the following information:
* Name of prospective coach
* Phone
* Email
* Country
* Your name
Dennis Griffin (dennis@icoachacademy.com) will keep track of everyone and their referrals. The student who has the most number of referrals that enroll at ICA by the 30th June 2006 will receive an extra gift of an IPOD.

What’s the Difference between Coaching Practicum and Supervised Coach? |
| May 1st, 2006 under Program Updates. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Coaching Practicum is a course to practice your coaching. You can join in and listen to coaching, participate in coaching as the client or the coach, practice your trial session techniques, and build your confidence as a coach.
Each session runs for 12 weeks in a row and then there is a four week break. You may come in at any time during the course of the twelve weeks, and you may take CP classes at different times from different teleclass leaders. During one of the twelve classes, you will take an oral exam, which consists of coaching a client or colleague in class, and then completing a reflective learning based on the questions found in the learnsite.
Watch for an article in the next student bulletin to learn more about the Supervised Coach assessment process.

Discussion Forum Set Up for the ICF Conferences |
| May 1st, 2006 under Newsworthy Events. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Check out the discussion board for a new forum that has been recently added called ICF Conferences 2006. Feel free to post your intentions to attend either of the conferences and find ways to hook up with ICA friends from around the world who are also attending.
ICA teleclass leader Angela Bird will be attending the Brussels conference in May. Many ICA teleclass leaders, including Barbara Luther (conference co-chair), Joanne Waldman and Jim Clarkson, who all reside in St. Louis, will be attending the St. Louis conference in November. And our very own Bronwyn Bowery-Ireland is on the committee to choose the conference presenters. We are very well-represented indeed!
The trainers would love to meet up with you! Let us know through the discussion board if you are planning on attending so that we can make sure that happens.
