[ # ] New Focus for Business Building: Growing Your Business through Group Coaching
April 30th, 2007 under Learning and development, Program Updates, Teleclasses

Group Coaching is a form of coaching that taps into the innate resourcefulness of each individual and integrates the wisdom of the group into the individual’s own insights and ideas.

Beginning the week of May 7th, our Business Building course will be facilitated as Group Coaching.

Over the past few years we have supported coaches in growing their business through imparting business related skills.  However, what we have learnt is that everyone is in at a different stage of business growth.  Some coaches are building websites, some coaches are trying to come up with a company name, some coaches are looking to work out a coaching system for their corporation.  Everyone has different needs at different times.

Our commitment is to support our coaches to be successful and thus we have initiated group coaching delivered by a business/marketing coach.  Each student must attend 12 group coaching sessions - (one hour teleclass).  You can either do 12 all at once or just drop in as you need the coaching.  The development of your business will be supported by your group coach and also your fellow colleagues who are participating on the call.

Group Coaching Benefits:

  1. An experience of group coaching
  2. An experienced coach coaching you
  3. Receive coaching on your business growth needs
  4. Receive coaching when you need it
  5. Modelling of group coaching for your own practice

In each group session, you will have the ability to determine agenda.  You can draw upon the ideas in the modules listed under the Business Building curriculum, or bring your own questions that come up as you grow your business.  You will receive coaching and support in real time for your business building needs.

Group coaching provides:

  • Increased energy, enthusiasm and support
  • A caring and safe enviromnent , helps the group support each other to stay on course
  • Increased accountability and productivity - the group is there to remember and “hold” your goals, ideas and dreams
  • In witnessing others move forward, you become more willing to challenge yourself
  • More confidence in yourself every time you meet such a challenge
  • Greater professional connections with other coaches
  • The joy of supporting others, while moving toward the achievement of your own goals.

With this change in the Business Building module, what about those of us who have been completing the required classes? Do we complete the module, or just shift to the group coaching format?

Hi Carol.

This is a good question so thanks for asking!

You will need a total of 12 classes in Business Building to graduate. Just take the modules you have already completed and subtract from 12. Then take that many business building group coaching sessions to complete your requirements. For example if you have completed 7 of the regular modules, and you take 5 group coaching sessions, you will have completed your 12 classes.

I hope this helps!

Love and Great Joy,

Karen
