ICA Community Bulletin

A new Coffee Break Call has been added to the calender, to cater for the growing number of students from Australia and other countries with a similar time zone.

The first two of these Coffee Breaks will take place on:

• Wednesday 4th July at 2pm Australian EST / 12am NY EST - hosted by Sylvie Carter
• Wednesday 18th July at 2pm Australian EST / 12am NY EST - hosted by Les White

This will be a regular time every fortnight with different hosts. Check the calender for further dates.

Over the last couple of months I have had several people ask me if I have watched the movie ‘The Secret’ or read the book - The Law of Attraction, by Michael Losier. I must confess to not having done either. However even though I havent read or seen either I realise that I apply the priniciples in everything I do. So what are these principles that I use? ICA would like to congratulate Ronnie Noize on her outstanding achievement of being awarded ‘Coach of the Year,2007′, by the North West Coaches Association. Ronnie is the leader of ICA’s Community of Practice Business niche. Over the last couple of weeks we have had some changes to the structure of our management team and also our administration team. The restructuring has occurred for a couple of reasons

1. We need to be set up to grow ICA to the next level (we have big plans)
2. Staff have demonstrated great skill and ability and as a result have been promoted and acknowledged.

The next series of Supervised Coach will begin the week of the 6th August 2007. There are numerous time options available and each one is limited to only 6 students. You must attend the same time option each week and must register via the link below.

The pre requisites for Supervised Coach registrations are:

1. Please read the Supervised Coach Orientation document and listen to the Supervised Coach Audio to determine your eligibility

2. Check the list of available times via the Academic Calendar

During the first two weeks in July, we will take a break from classes at ICA.  Our break will begin on Monday, July 2nd, and classes will resume on Monday, July 16th.

ICA student blogs have been up and running for several months now and it has been exciting to hear the powerful effects that online journalling can have on so many students’ learning journeys. We have received feedback from some students, however, that the assessment criteria of 3 - 5 links per week was rather excessive and didn’t fit with a natural flow of ideas and connections that made blogging such a powerful activity. We’ve changed the criteria to reflect this. Some students have indicated to us that the flow of people needing a peer coach and people needing a peer client has become a little unbalanced lately. For this reason, the training team have decided to alter this graduation requirement. For the future, instead of having to find 3 ICA peer clients and 2 external clients, students will be able to have 2 ICA clients and 3 external clients. Read more »
