ICF Election - profile Karen Tweedie
September 25th, 2007 under Uncategorized, Newsworthy Events. [ Comments: none ]

Dear Graduates

As you all know the ICF election is on and for the first time they have three candidates. One of the candidates Karen Tweedie was the ICFA (Autralasia) president and is from Australia. She has asked me to forward her profile to ICF credentialed members.
I am not endorsing her but rather passing on information to you as I agreed to.
Happy voting.

What is your ICF experience?

I have been a member of ICF since 2001. I joined primarily to ensure that I had a professional network to tap into and learn with. As a result of that decision I met some fantastic people - a number of whom I still collaborate and work with today, I have participated in some great Professional Development and had the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader. Each aspect of my experience with ICF contributes to the growth and professionalism of coaching.

As an ICF leader I have local, Regional and Global Leadership experience and have been part of a number of Global Taskforces and committees. I have been Board liaison with the Regulatory Committee, which gave me insight into the challenges and need for maintaining networks of intelligence to explore regulatory issues members may face globally.

As current ICF Treasurer I chair the Finance Committee. The ICF is on a firm financial footing and this year I have had the opportunity to lead a global team in bringing innovation and creativity to the task of designing a number of non-dues revenue streams for the ICF. We are designing ways to reach out to customers and consumers of coaching services, forge Strategic Alliances and find broad opportunities to achieve our strategic objectives whilst growing our financial well-being. This will allow us to increase value for all stakeholders whilst increasing ICF revenue for future initiatives - al without imposing any financial burden on our members.

I am delighted to be able to continue my gift of service as part of the ICF Global leadership team for 2008. The individuals on this Board bring a mix of skills and wide demographic representation for our membership - from Europe, Canada, the United States and Australasia.

Academic Calendar - New Classes, Trainer Change and New Look
September 20th, 2007 under Teleclasses, Activities and Teleclasses, Academic Calendar updates. [ Comments: none ]

ICA is committed to keeping class sizes to an optimal level and to provide a range of class times that are suited to various time zones. Therefore we have added an AC100 teleclass and an AC200 class. Details are outlined below.

Additionally, there has been a change of trainer to the Thursday 6am NY ET, AC200 Class.  This class was previously facilitated by Angela Bird, but will now be facilitated by Bill Turpin.

Also we recently changed the way in which the classes are listed on the calendar.  Previously classes were listed as example: AC100 Option 1.  Now you will notice that most of the classes are now listed to appear as example: Time Option 1.  We felt that this was easier to read and less confusing, particularly for new students.  All changes to the calendar are posted to the Community Bulletin, so it is a good idea to read the Community Bulletin regularly.

Details for New AC100 & AC200 classes:

AC100 CLASS BEGINNING:

Wedneday: 26 September 2007

Time: 7pm - 8pm NY ET

Trainer: Angela Bird

Bridge Number: +1 512 597 6253

Access Code: 667867#

AC200 CLASS BEGINNING

Thursday: 27 September 2007

Time: 8pm - 9pm NY ET

Trainer: Angela Bird

Bridge Number: +1 512 597 6253

Access Code: 506110#

Reminder - Graduation Submissions Due by 26 October 2007
September 17th, 2007 under Assessment. [ Comments: none ]

Just a reminder to our students planning to graduate in December 2007. As Supervised Coach is now well underway, we take this opportunity to remind everyone concerned that all ‘Graduation Submissions’ are due on or by Friday October 26, 2007, with graduation set to take place on Friday December 7,2007.

We encourage our graduating students to make their submissions gradually as this not only alleviates the stress of ‘getting’ all submissions in on time, but also allows time for our assessment team to assess these submissions.

If you have any questions regarding assessment or graduation please email support@ica.helpserve.com or assessment@icoachacademy.com

September 14th, 2007 under Positions or Opportunities. [ Comments: none ]

Peter Bland is farmer, father, author and adventurer.  He has recently contacted ICA as he is in search of some great coaches.  He offers a training product for people who want to have an amazing life experience.  He also offers coaching with his training product.  He speaks on the world circuit and you can learn more about him on http://www.peterbland.com or http://www.uniquefrontiers.com

I have told hime that the hourly rate that he needs to offer is at least AUD$200.00 and he will speak to each person and interview them over the telephone.  As he travels all over the world he needs coaches globally placed too.  So if you are interested in working for Peter and coaching people that hear Peter speak, then please email a brief bio, your email address, your telephone number and your web address to bron.bi@icoachacademy.com

I will forward your details onto him of behalf of ICA.  Below is a bio of Peter from his website.

Introduce yourself to our community!!
September 11th, 2007 under Learning and development, Activities and Teleclasses. [ Comments: none ]

“There are no such things as strangers: there are only friends we have not met”

Remember a time when you felt really scared, a time where you had to say hello and introduce yourself!  You spent ages working out what to write, you ran it over and over again in your mind.  What if I write the wrong thing?  What if they don’t answer?  Finally you pluck up the courage, take a deep breath and introduce yourself……..

No, I am not talking out on-line dating, I am talking about “introduce yourself to our community” section , in the Cafe and Social area or our discussion board.

One of the many things that make ICA the best coach training company in the world, is our unique on-line learning environment.  This helps students to connect and really feel part of a global coaching community.  We were all new students once, we posted that introduction message, and waited excitedly for the replies, for that opportunity to connect!

I would like to ask you all to help in achieving a goal: that every student who posts a message in the “introduce yourself to our community” area, receives at least five replies.  Please check this area every time you go onto the discussion board, and post a message to anyone who has less than 5 replies to their introduction message.

If you are the person posting your introduction message, the more you tell everyone about yourself, your background, your interests and in particular your goals and dreams around coaching, the more likely you are to make lasting connections.

Cheers

Dennis Griffin                                                                                                             Business Manager (ICA)
