ICA | Power Tool Assessment |
| March 29th, 2009 under Assessment, Learning and development. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
A note of clarity and support from the assessment team: Below is a short description of what we are expecting from the Power Tool Assessment. We hope this will support you as you move ahead with the creation of your Power Tool.
Power Tool
For this assessement you are required to create you own powertool. This tool should be based on the same conceptual model as the ICA powertools where two opposing perspectives are presented in a way that clients can use as part of the coaching process. The aim is to use the tool to explore and enable empowered change for people and to add to your coaching toolbox as part of your evolving coaching practice.
This means that the tool that you create should:
- Explain/outline the two perspectives - what they are and how they inform our lives.
- Include activities, questions etc that you would use with clients to help them with this process
- Be practical and explain the two perspectives and how they inform what we do in a language that is accessible for clients.
Your powertool should build on what you have learnt from studying the powertools. It can be useful to design your powertool to add to your overall coaching approach and coaching model.
The powertool is a pass/fail assessment. In order to pass it is essential that you address all these issues and present it in clear and accessible language.
Powertools are usually between 3-4 pagesin length.

ICA officially declares next week, beginning the 23 March 2009, Positivity Week!
Many people have been touched by huge economic crisis that is impacting the globe. It is a difficult and challenging time and at ICA, we wanted to do something to support everyone. Not just everyone at ICA, but everyone around the world. So we are declaring next week ‘Positivity Week’. Our aim is that during the course of the week we will bring about as much positive energy as we can and make a shift in the contribution to global optimism.
How can you share your positivity?
Share your positivity intent with everyone you touch during the week. Bring your positivity to each teleclass, share your positive stories on the ICA discussion board and ooze your positive intent during every meeting you attend or person you come into contact with. The team at ICA are massively excited and look forward to you sharing your positivity journeys, stories and insights.
We know that with all of us together we can move mountains and create a positive energy wave, just like the Mexican wave you see at sports games. So lets get ready and create the shift.

CoP Classes
ICA strives to provide a flexible curriculum which accommodates the needs and request of our students. In keeping with this, we have decided to offer a CoP | Marketing class, which will replace the CoP | Business classes, that are currently offered. Along with this, there has been a recent change to the CoP | Life classes on Monday’s, 3-4pm NY ET & Tuesday’s 9-10pm NY ET. Previously these classes were facilitated by Bill Turpin, but are now facilitated by Merci Miglino.
In addition, there will also be a change to the schedule for these classes as follows:
CoP Marketing | Tuesday 8 - 9pm NY ET replaces,
CoP Business | Monday 9 - 10pm NY ET.
CoP Marketing | Monday 4 - 5pm NY ET replaces,
CoP Business | Monday 4 - 5pm NY ET.
FC100 Classes
Due to an ongoing demand for evening FC100 classes, we have decided to add and additional class on Tuesdays at 7pm. This will replace a class that will be discontinued on Sunday’s at 4pm.
Here are the schedule changes for FC100:
FC100 | Time Option 11 | Sunday 4 - 5pm NY ET, moves to
