ICF Credentialing | Update
March 31st, 2010 under General Information, Learning and development. [ Comments: none ]

Recently, we have received questions from some of our students, regarding ICF credentialing and the changes that are planned.

Below is two excerpts from the ICF March Newsletter that may be of interest to our community, and may help to clarify the situation as it currently stands.  We have also included a link that you can click on to read more about credentialing.

Excerpts:

Life of the Existing Credentialing System
The decision of the Board is to keep the existing 3-tier credentialing system in place until January 2012. This does not mean that the 3-tier system will disappear in January 2012. It only means that anyone planning to apply for one of the existing credentials can rely on the stability of the existing 3-tier system through that time.

Charging the Credentialing and Program Accreditation Committee with the Task of Developing a Proposal
The decision of the Board is to keep the existing 3-tier credentialing system in place until January 2012 and to charge the Credentialing and Program Accreditation Committee to develop standards that will enhance our credentialing program to best protect and serve consumers of coaching services, measure and certify competence of individuals and inspire pursuit of continuous development.

ICA | Would you like to be a student buddy?
February 2nd, 2010 under ICA Volunteer. [ Comments: none ]

Student buddies are highly valued members of the ICA student community, who generously donate their time in assisting newbies with finding their way within and around the ICA community. As students that have already been with ICA for some time would know, this can sometimes be a little daunting to begin with. Being a buddy could involve sharing first hand experiences, or assisting new students to connect with their online community.

Whilst being a buddy does involve a time commitment, it is very flexible and should only involve a few hours a month. Students wishing to become a part of our wonderful buddy team, should be familiar with the ICA environment, and be willing to support our new students.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a buddy, or if you would like to become a valued member of our ‘Buddy Team’, please contact Jamee Tenzer at jamee.tenzer@icoachacademy.com
